“Sanctified”- Mercy Me

“Let there be no condemnation for all who are fully known in Christ unspeakable grace for all the nations by way of holy sacrifice we worship with the sound of broken shackles falling to the ground.
[chorus] Sanctified I have been set free, grace divine has swept me off my feet.
No greater love has ever been known than He who came to find the lost no greater sacrifice has been shown than He who laid upon the cross let all creation sing for He has come and He’s changed everything.
And I know that I will never be the same. “
As I prepared music for our gatherings this weekend I came across this song and it ministered to my heart. What a great promise that comes from Romans 8:1 “Therefore there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Furthermore, we are sanctified through His Sacrifice on the cross and worship because we are set free!
sanc·ti·fy
1. To set apart for sacred use; consecrate.

2. To make holy; purify.
3. To give religious sanction to, as with an oath or vow: sanctify a marriage.
4. To give social or moral sanction to.
5. To make productive of holiness or spiritual blessing
We are purified, holy and set apart. Not on our own, but through his redeeming grace. We are free from ourselves, our sin is defeated and the enemy no long has power. The shackles are broken and fall to the ground and we will never be the same.
