After the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus begins to show what the Kingdom of God looks like. In Matthew 8:1–13, we see Him touch the untouchable leper and speak with authority that heals from a distance—fulfilling the hope promised in Isaiah 35. These moments reveal a Kingdom where holiness moves outward, grace welcomes outsiders, and faith is defined not by status but by trust in Jesus’ word. As we live in the tension of the Kingdom being already present but not yet complete, this teaching invites us to come honestly to Jesus and trust His authority in our everyday lives.
Where do you need to come honestly to Jesus this week—trusting His word or bringing an area of need, shame, or obedience to Him before you see the outcome?
