Often when Christians talk about being saved, it is in reference to the time that they confessed their sins and embraced Jesus as their Savior, thus they have been saved.
Over the years, I have come to embrace Christ’s saving work as a work that will not end until we stand in the presence of our King in heaven. I was reminded of this fact in the just the past few days in a sermon from Alistair Begg.
In that message, Alistair talked of a three-fold salvation. I want to share these with you and then invite you to search the scriptures for the evidence of these statements.
1. We have been saved from sin’s penalty.
2. We are being saved from sin’s power.
3. We will be saved from sin’s presence.
Saved from sin’s penalty, which is death and hell. Being saved from sin’s power, through Christ’s blood, filled with His Holy Spirit and led by His word, we can know victory over besetting sin. And one day we will be saved from sin’s presence. Currently we live in a fallen world with the presence of sin all around us, but one day, we will live in a realm where sin will have no place, where it will never be present again.
